1) I've been waiting for this day for months. No, not day 8 of unemployment, I'm talking about the release of the new Bloc Party album "A Weekend in the City." I'm listening to it right now and its phenomenal...diverse, angry and emotional (but not emo!). Their drummer, Matt Tong, is probably my favorite drummer of all time (next to Jimmy Chamberlain)...he's the best on the planet IMO. This band is huge everywhere in the world except the US, and this should finally allow them to break through. I'm trying to think of who among you I would recommend this to....definitely Skurvy, and maybe even you Angry White Cracker...but you're too much into "Retard Rock" like Queensryche and Slipknot, so maybe not.
2) Getting over the flu...I didn't go outside once yesterday, and I only just now noticed the snowfall. If there is snow on the ground, does that mean its less cold? Probably not.
3) Me and my friends who follow college basketball (all 3 of them) have long hated former Oklahoma St. forward and current ESPN Radio host Doug Gottlieb. The reasons are vast, as he's a complete a-hole during his ESPN chats, and he always name drops. Also, back when he was a freshman at Notre Dame (before getting kicked out) he stole his roommate's credit card and was convicted of fraud. But according to a somewhat reliable source, Gottlieb is also an idiot, and his transgressions include: "starting a game against the kansas jayhawks his senior year wearing his shorts backwards", as well as becoming an israeli citizen to play overseas, "which requires you to join the military. Not knowing about this requirement he fled Israel and was charged by the government with draft dodging." Click on the link, as Wikipedia confirms ALL of this (except for the backwards shorts thing, that was from poster on the Scouts.com message boards...a Notre Dame fan)
4) seen this one before? Some guy with a video camera on the beach antagonizing Bill Cowher and his wife. Its funny because of Cowher's supposed infidelity through the years. (courtesy of SportsbyBrooks.com)
