1) So Tyrus Thomas is competing in the Slam Dunk contest for the money. Who cares? Considering the Slam Dunk contest hasn't elevated the winner to stardom since Isiah Rider won it in the early 90's, what difference does it make why he's competing? He said it was "free money." Is it a big deal? I guess John Paxson thought it was.
2) The Auto Show opened to the press yesterday. I can't wait for Saturday! What am I eager to see?
- The new Pontiac G8: it's the Grand Prix replacement, but it's RWD
and has a V8! They basically took a Holden Commodore from
Australia and rebadged it. Smart.
- The Altima coupe: I probably won't end up owning this as the next
2-door car I buy will be a sports car, but it looks gorgeous in
pictures.
- The BMW Alpina 7: This is about as close to an M7 Bimmer as you'll
get. 'Nuff said.
- The updated Nissan/Infiniti line: They've been working hard to
improve on a lineup that had already started hitting homeruns.
- Concept surprises: Every year there are a couple concepts that
show up that I wasn't expecting.
3) See if I can locate Scurny sometime before he takes off from the Chi. Was last night the cheap wings spot night or is that tonight?
4) Puff my cajones up to a level where I feel comfortable asking about going permanent. My temporary status ends with the end of our month at about noon today. I want to be proactive instead of getting a call from the temp agency on my way to work Monday. I believe I'll get hired on permanently - which is a step beyond faith, AngryWhiteMan.

Believing and faith is for suckers.
And somehow without it, you're broke and potentially scrambling for a job.
