Emancipate In '08 -- by J.O.B.

1) Welcome back me. I wasn't anywhere in particular - I've been literally glued to anything dealing with the election, the record label/production company and chasing midgets down the streets of Chicago. Alright, maybe not so much on that last part. If you go back to BB's last rambling post, I've commented there and after other posts leading to today.

2) Mitt Romney is a dick, a racist and polygamist (and his faith believes the Garden of Eden is in Missouri.) Fred Thompson is a bore and oftentimes seems bored on stage. Rudy Giuliani can end a sentence without referencing a specific date (guess which one!) Mike Huckabee is like the educated evolution of George Bush. John McCain is a warmongering Democrat in GOP clothing. I'm dumbfounded that Ron Paul isn't getting even more attention than he is. He's shined on Glenn Beck and on Tim Russert. By the way, this is a better visual of where these candidates all stand.

3) The NFL has again made a great case for parity. San Diego and New York both win on the road in places where they should never have won. The youngest team in the league plays at home next week for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. I'm hoping to see Favre go out a loser in an 11 year delayed rematch with the Pats.

4) Other than Atonement, I've seen just about every movie that is will probably be in Oscar consideration (Michael Clayton, No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Charlie Wilson's War, American Gangster) as well as most of the performances of those that could get a best actor nod. I swear to Vishnu, if Daniel Day-Lewis doesn't get the Oscar for best actor someone needs to blow up Hollywood. His performance in There Will Be Blood is one of the most riveting I've ever seen. The movie deserves serious consideration for film of the year and he is head and shoulders above anyone else in the field.
