Better Late Than Never!

Today's goals will have a TV theme, as that's all I've been doing the past 3 unemployed weeks.

1) I'm watching American Idol this season...as gay as that sounds, I do have a very good reason. Her name is Antonella Barba, and she actually impressed me tonight, after her less than stellar performance, she remained composed, and simply asked "well what should I do differently?" She'll be gone after this week, sadly...but she is hot. That has to count for something...right? It did for Carrie Underwood...

2) Speaking of Fox TV shows, The Winner makes its debut in two weeks. Its from Seth MacFarland from Family Guy, and stars Rob Corddry (from Daily Show...and his brother Nathan is on the getting-progressively-worse Studio 60). This is worth checking out, because Seth MacFarland is brilliant...as evidenced by the seldom seen but genius American Dad.

3) Check out the Tonight Show video clips, where comedian Michael Fatel interviews NBA All Stars. He asks Tony Parker "since your french, do you ever just want to surrender in the middle of a game?"

4) The lineup for Dancing with the Stars was announced today! Among the contestants- A.W.M's uncle, Billy Ray Cyrus. As well as legendary hottie Paulina Porizkova, who is immortalized by two great songs from the 90's: No Doubt's "Paulina" and The Rentals' "Friends of P". The latter I found out while I was interviewing Rentals' lead singer (and former Weezer bassist) Matt Sharp, in my greatest radio moment ever, I immediately made the connection that he must have met Porizkova while recording the first Weezer album, which was produced by Porizkova's husband, Ric Ocasek (aka the ugliest dude ever to land a supermodel).

RE Goal #3:

Or you could not be a douche bag and watch Letterman.

Oh I get it. Its so fashionable to bash Jay Leno! Seriously, at this point its akin to saying The Killers are overproduced, and Derek Jeter is overrated. Got any Anna Nicole jokes while we're at it??

I'm not bashing Jay Leno, just the people who watch Jay Leno.

Relax, Mr. Defensive.

(AWM: Mr. Defensive is not an actual person nor a reference to a book, painting, painter, movie or band or musician. So I'll save you from having to look it up on Wiki. You're welcome.)

Somewhere on Fox's fair and balanced website they have the first 4 episodes of The Winner. I watched about 10 minutes before deciding that this is as close to translating a Seth McFarlane cartoon to reality that you're going to find. As usual, it's almost absurd for the sake of absurdity.

BTW, Letterman pwns Leno. Leno's little skits are decent, but he's a crap interviewer - even on the fluff crap that late night specializes in.

Jay Leno sucks pole and so does anyone that watches that clown. Doesn't suprise me LBB would watch that crap.

Conan is my god. w/ Letterman coming in at a distant second.

You are the one that thinks Carlos Mencia is funny...you have no credibility whatsoever in this conversation. Go make some dials

"C'MON GUYYYYSSSSS, LET'S GET SOME EENNNNRRRROOOLLLLMENTS!"

AngryWhiteMan said...

The Mencia thing again... Why would you mention that after we all seen the video of him getting confronted on stage?

Somebody shoot me, I said the dude was funny a year ago. Obviously I was the only one to think it. For fucks sake, the dude had his own show on Comedy Central.
