Because of the Goals

1. Game 1 in the bag...it was ugly, it was slow, it was your standard Eastern Conference Lullfest and I loved it. The Pistons looked indifferent for most of the game and turned it on when they needed to AND held Lebron to 10 points. BB: Just like I told you several weeks ago, Bron Bron can't hit the big shot, Pistons in 5.

2. So last weekend I picked up (legally, leave me alone FBI) two new albums: Modest Mouse and Kings of Leon. Both are excellent. I loved Kings of Leon's last album and have seen them live, this record "Because of the Times" is even superior to their last one...I highly recommend both of them, solid rock records. Kings of Leon are fairly simple, both lyrically and muscially, but very enjoyable. Modest Mouse has a few duds, but for the most part it's excellent (see: "Spitting Venom", "Florida"). I think BB mentioned the Modest Mouse album some time ago...what did you think?

3. Rhodes Scholar Clinton Ports dropped this gem about Mike "I still can't actually throw a touchdown" Vick's recent allegations of running dog fights:

"I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not," Portis said. "But it's his property; it's his dogs. If that's what he wants to do, do it."
Portis said dog fighting is a "prevalent" part of life.
Portis, a native of Laurel, Mississippi, added: "I know a lot of back roads that got a dog fight if you want to go see it. But they're not bothering those people because those people are not big names. I'm sure there's some police got some dogs that are fighting them, some judges got dogs and everything else."

And for the record, Clinton: I think he's being accused of having the dogs fight each other, Vick hasn't actually "put up the dukes" with any dogs.

4. Anyone else seen this website? www.votehamsandwich.com

That's right, Ham Sandwich is running for Office in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Regarding Turmoil: "Ham has known adversity. Ham was completely cleared of any involvement in the death of Mama Cass Eliot, a scandal which threatened to derail his political career until the baseless charges were shown to be a fraud." Hilarious.

5. Finally, this one is special, especially for BB. I have a feeling after seeing this picture, he'll literally shriek, start laughing nervously, look over his shoulder, give the person next to him the Stink Eye and gallop to a frame shop to by two picture frames so he can post one at home and one in his office. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present....THE GREATEST PICTURE IN THE WORLD!

Ummm...its early, but I can't tell who is in that picture.

As for The Bron, nobody said he couldn't "hit the big shot" when he did just that against the Wizards last year. And it was Donyell that missed the big show last night. Sure, Bron passed up the opportunity to tie, but I think we would all agree that given the option, we preferred to go for the W right there rather than take our chances in OT (with Eric Snow getting crunch time minutes).

Modest Mouse album is awesome. Spitting Venom is indeed a great song...8 minute epic, its their Stairway (except, you know, on a much, much, much smaller scale).

Oh, and even funnier than Portis' comments were Vick's. Please tell me you caught his "everyone is going to love me anyway" speech. This is getting better and better. Its like a rapidly aging fine wine of unintentional comedy.

Look at that forearm grip....thats a right arm that produced fewer INT's per pass attempts than anyone in history (at the time of his retirement)

Where did you find that pic??

It came free when I renewed my Bernie Kosar Fan Club membership.

I'm glad someone else saw the comment that Portis made. He could be the stupidest human being on the planet.
