Stuff And All -- by J.O.B.

1) Pops got remarried on Saturday ... hilarious South Side wedding. My Dad and I get along great, but we're not like buddy-buddy on the phone all the time and stuff like that. We call and occasionally meet up on special days, etc. You just kind of forget that one of your parents lives a complete life and dates and falls in love when you aren't around them are involved in their life all the time. I'm happy for him because he's happy.

2) Watched a few movies the last few days that weren't called Transformers. "Next" - other than seeing Jessica Biel this movie was worthless. The Cage/Biel pairing is just not believable in the slightest and how he hooks up with her is kind of pervy to say the least (so AWM will love it.) Any movie that deals with the space-time continuum risks coming off poorly because of implausibilities and plot-hole possibilities, and this one doesn't disappoint in that regard. Plus, Biel is somewhat of a plot device that unexplainedly increases Cage's ability which makes zero sense. The payoff is fake and sucks and the ending is not really an ending but more like the movie having to stop because it knows your head is about to explode. Don't even watch this on F/X.

"Trust The Man" - Why didn't this movie make more money? David Duchovny in a role that fits him, Billy Crudup actually funny, Julianne Moore looking close to Boogie Nights attractive, and even Maggie Gyllenhaal looking normal and not like an alien. Oh yeah, Eva Mendes only makes a cameo. Maybe her having too small a role was the problem. Or maybe it was the fact that she gets rejected by a man at one point, which is neither a spoiler or close to realistic. Anyway, I was immensely entertained by this movie. It was funny and light-hearted, but also touched on some serious issues without being too deep. Simple enjoyable date movie.

"Little Children" - David Duchovny was everything great about a house husband in "Trust The Man" that Patrick Wilson was not in this movie. Duchovny actually comes off cool, while Wilson comes off like a ball-less turd who has all the testosterone of Daniel Benoit (is that too harsh?)
