The Saturday Edition -- by J.O.B.

1) There it is Angry White Male and Gentlemen! The 1974 Ford Galaxie that my Grandfather bought brand new, and that I inherited when my Grandmother passed 4 years ago. I finally have the room and money to keep it so I picked it up yesterday. Outside, the chrome needs to be redone, the front left fender has a little rust and the whole thing needs at least a clean and wax if not a total paint job. Inside, the whole thing needs to be cleaned out, but the upholstery is in good shape and the ceiling lining has only one small hole. The speedo and gas gauge need repair and the car needs an alignment. Overall, not too bad for a 33 year old car.

2) The TV Show Blog put out a request for people that wanted to write for this upcoming season. I of course, sent in my case for letting me be the dedicated blogger for Heroes. I just "applied" for it on Friday, but I'll keep you posted ...

3) I know, I owe quite a few reviews and they are forthcoming. In the meantime, I wanted to highlight a few movies that are coming out before the end of the year that I'm eager to see. American Gangster (starring Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Common, and the RZA,) is a telling of 1970's Harlem drug dealer Frank Lucas. Lucas may be best known as the guy who smuggled heroin to the U.S. in the caskets of dead soldiers from Vietnam. I wouldn't doubt if the guy was the inspiration for movies ranging from New Jack City to Belly. Denzel vs. Crowe! We Own The Night (Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg and Robert Duvall,) looks like a movie that I hope will not be pegged as a poor-man's Departed. There is definitely the "undercover cop involved with a mob" thing going on, but it definitely looks different. Really, with Phoenix and Wahlberg starring I could care less how it's pegged, I'm in. No one has figured out that Nicole Kidman can't really carry a movie on her own but she stars in Invasion anyway. It's a remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers and the previews look interesting. James Bond is the male lead so maybe he can help it out. 3:10 To Yuma is Crowe and Christian Bale. Two Aussies in a cowboy flick? If it was any other pair but these two, I'd say pass, but I can't pick many actors that I'm willing to pay to see more than Crowe and Bale. Lastly, Shoot 'Em Up (Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci) looks like a crazy roller coaster of guns and Bellucci looking hot, with some Giamatti timely wit thrown in. Owen is the consistent bad-ass that Benicio Del Toro doesn't appear to want to embrace...

4) This just came out and of course, I have to get Jnicho's thoughts ...

I don't understand how a guy that loses in his last fight can still be on the list. That's B.S. I'll post my top pfp later this week.

Monica Bellucci is, in my opinion, one of the five hottest people alive.

also, I just applied to be the blog writer for Friday Night Lights. Do they already have one?
